Milestones in the Group's history

The business was first established by the graduate engineer Alois Lödige in 1948. This page details some key milestones. Showing the journey from when we were established to how we become the group we are today.

This historical journey through time is divided into the following eras:

Formation and expansion

In the year of 1948 Lodige becomes a limited company (GmbH) due to its success. Additional production halls are built on the site in Warburg/Scherfede.

 

1948Alois Lödige establishes his mechanical engineering company "Dipl.-Ing. A. Lödige Maschinenfabrik" in Paderborn, Germany
1949The company's first product - the Hubfix - is first shown in Frankfurt
1953Construction of hydraulic lifting platform with a capacity of up to 100,000 kg
1961Company's legal status changes to GmbH (private limited company)
1965New production halls open in Warburg/Scherfede

 

New management and new divisions

During the 1970s and 80s, the company extends its services into air cargo.

 

1975First air cargo project: the KLM air cargo terminal at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport
1980Dr. Rudolf Lödige becomes managing director

Restructuring and an International Focus

The first office in Asia opens around the turn of the millennium.

1993Takeover of Hollfelder Elektronik-LogIT
1995Signing of a contract for the British Airways World Cargo Terminal at London Heathrow and successful handover to the customer in 1999
1998Company splits into Lödige Fördertechnik GmbH and Lödige Gebäudelogistik GmbH
(now Lödige Aufzugstechnik GmbH based in Paderborn but no longer part of the Lödige Industries Group)
2004New Loedige Asia Ltd. subsidiary opens in Hong Kong

2004Special lifting platform designed for painting the vertical stabilizer of the Airbus A380 at Airbus's Finkenwerder plant in Hamburg
2006Handover of T2 cargo terminal at Hong Kong International Airport to customer AAT Asia Airfreight Terminal
2010Two lorry lifts supplied to Hyde Park One in London
2011Awarded contract by MASkargo to redevelop the air cargo hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport
2011Scheduled handover of air cargo terminal for New Doha International Airport
