Let’s Hope Batman Needs a Car Lift

The site which is known as 40 Leadenhall Street in the City of London, has received planning permission for two new towers. The towers will be constructed alongside three existing buildings that are to be left untouched.

Make Architects have designed what they describe as a “striking 34-storey tower that recalls the classic North American skyscrapers of the early 20th century”, plus a smaller 14-storey tower. ‘Gotham City’ as the project has been nicknamed, is one of the largest developments ever to receive planning permission in London’s financial district known as the ‘Square Mile’.

Together the two skyscrapers will offer over 80,000m2 of office space and, despite their size, are expected to produce 30% less carbon than the current regulations allow.

Lödige can offer and design a completely bespoke car lift that would even allow Batman’s car to be parked in the underground basement. With more than 30 years of experience, Lödige UK has been a part of some huge and exciting projects across the nation that have involved car lifts, goods movement and lorry lifts. For further information on the vast range of products on offer, contact the UK office. Assistance can be given with budget costs, specifications, tenders, design, compliance and drawings.

All Lödige products are designed in house to suit project requirements and are manufactured in the Lödige Industries factory in Warburg, Germany. There is a UK team of qualified and experienced installation engineers based across the country that carry out the installations and maintenance on the Lödige lifts and systems. The products are however open protocol so this is not a mandatory service.
