MAX2M – semi-automated parking system for multi-row installations with a high parking space requirement
Parken in zwei bis vier Anlagenreihen
Many residential developments, neighbourhoods and mixed-use projects have to accommodate a large number of parking spaces within a limited plot. A single system row reaches its limits here, even though floor area is still available in the depth of the plot.
Within the range of semi-automated parking systems, MAX2M is particularly relevant where a high parking space requirement is to be met on a limited plot and several system rows can be arranged one behind the other for this purpose. This produces 6 to 38 parking spaces on two parking levels, depending on the number of system rows, without building below entry level.
What is Swiss-Park MAX2M?
Swiss-Park MAX2M is a semi-automated parking system that organises parking spaces across two parking levels: at entry level and on an upper level above it. It serves two to four system rows one behind the other; no parking level is created below the entrance. The driver parks the vehicle personally, while the parking solution moves the platforms and presents the selected parking space at entry level. Every vehicle remains independently accessible. MAX2M is planned together with MAX1, MAX2 or MAX3. Swiss-Park is a Lödige Industries company.
Your benefits at a glance
MAX2M organises parking spaces on two parking levels in several system rows one behind the other and so meets a high parking space requirement.

Applications
Residential Buildings
In larger Residential Buildings, the parking space requirement often becomes the limiting factor in the design. MAX2M organises cars above and beside one another across several system rows and so makes more intensive use of the available underground car park area. The design depends on the number of system rows, the building height, the clear passage height, the vehicle heights and the aisle width.
Residential Developments
Residential Developments require a large number of parking spaces within a limited plot. MAX2M is suitable for projects in which several groups of parking spaces are planned in a structured and space-efficient way. Within the MAX family, MAX2M is planned together with MAX1, MAX2 or MAX3.
Urban Infill Projects
In Urban Infill Projects, limited plot areas, high parking space requirements and structural constraints come together. MAX2M can help to organise larger groups of parking spaces within an underground car park. The building height, the clear passage height, the rail system, the aisle width and the works to be provided by others are to be clarified at an early stage.
Mixed-Use Buildings
In Mixed-Use Buildings, residential, office and commercial use come together with differing vehicle sizes and usage times. MAX2M organises larger groups of parking spaces system-side and thereby creates additional parking capacity within a shared floor plan. For the residential share with permanently allocated parking spaces the system is directly suitable; for areas with changing users, structural modifications to the system are required.

FAQs
With MAX2M the driver parks and retrieves the vehicle personally at entry level. The parking solution takes over the organisation of the parking spaces: it moves the platforms on the ground floor and lowers the platforms of the upper level until the selected parking space is at entry level. The parking sequence remains user-led, while the organisation of the parking spaces runs system-side.
All four belong to the family of semi-automated MAX systems and differ in the arrangement of the parking levels. MAX1 uses entry level and one level below it, MAX2 uses entry level and one level above it without a pit, and MAX3 uses all three levels for the highest parking space density. MAX2M works at entry level and one level above it and additionally serves several system rows one behind the other – it is planned together with one of the other three systems.
In the standard version MAX2M is designed for a fixed group of users with allocated parking spaces, as is usual in residential buildings. For uses with changing users, for example short-stay parking in Office Buildings or Hotels, structural modifications to the system are required. This should be clarified early in the design, because it affects the operating concept and the version supplied.
MAX2M can be planned from 2 grids; a grid is one parking space bay with two parking levels one above the other. How wide the system can be depends on the number of system rows: with two rows up to ten grids and 38 parking spaces, with three rows up to six grids and 33 parking spaces, with four rows up to four grids and 28 parking spaces. The actual suitability depends on the floor plan, the building height, the vehicle dimensions, the aisle width and the access.
The permissible vehicle heights depend on the type: 150, 165, 170, 175, 200 or 205 cm at entry level, and 150 to 205 cm in steps of 5 cm on the upper level. Which height can be realised in the project depends on the clear passage height, the building height and the configuration. In addition, the permissible vehicle height at entry level must be at least as great as the vehicle height on the upper level.
MAX2M accommodates cars with lengths of 500 to 520 cm. The system length is 560 cm for cars up to 5.0 m and 580 cm for cars up to 5.2 m. The usable platform width extends to 270 cm on the upper level and to 260 cm at entry level; 250 to 270 cm are recommended, and with a platform width of 230 cm the permissible vehicle width is 190 cm. For comfortable entry and exit, an aisle width of 650 cm is additionally recommended.
The important points are the building height, the clear passage height, the vehicle heights, the platform width, the aisle width, the access gradient, the rail system and floor flatness, the gate concept, the electrical connection, the position of the control cabinet, the hydraulic power unit and sound insulation. The floor slab and the walls are to be executed in concrete with a grade of at least C20/25. Ventilation, lighting, fire protection and drainage are also to be taken into account at an early stage; the system requires approval under the state building regulations and the garage regulations.
Which alternative might also be suitable?
Depending on the size of the project, the floor plan, the parking space requirement and the expectations regarding comfort, a different technology class may also make sense. The following starting points help with an initial orientation. A comparison within the MAX family is available on the overview of semi-automated parking systems.
